- Sun to partial shade. An excellent location for planting is close to the house on the east or west side.
- Planting close to walls can shield the Lily’s oriental stems from strong winds which could snap the stalk if not staked.
- Prefers slightly acidic, well drained soil, but will tolerate heavier soils.
- Remove blooms when they become spent and allow foliage to remain until it turns yellow. Consider planting in the garden at this time so you can enjoy the following summer.
- Fertilize at the beginning of spring with a slow release fertilizer.
